By the end of this guide you have accepted the legal documents, you know what the navigation rail is offering you, and you know where to go first.
Before you start. Your organisation's administrator creates your account. You cannot sign yourself up. If you have no invitation, ask them rather than the help centre.
> Declining the legal documents signs you out. You will not be able to use OneView > at all until you accept. You can come back and accept next time you sign in.
Accept the legal documents
The first screen after sign-in is not the product. It is three documents you must read and accept.
Read Terms & Conditions, the tab you land on. Scroll to Bottom, the floating button, takes you to the end of a long one in a single step.
At the foot of it, select Read Privacy Policy and PRA. OneView names the documents you still have to open, so you cannot lose track of where you are.
Do the same on Privacy Policy, then on PRA.
At the foot of PRA, the two checkboxes appear:
I have read and agree to the OneView Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy
I have read and agree to the OneStop PRA Terms and Conditions
Tick both, then select Accept.
The checkboxes and Accept are at the bottom of the last document, not on a screen of their own. That is the step people look for and miss. Both boxes are required. Choosing Decline opens a confirmation, and confirming signs you out.
Each document shows when it was last updated. Those dates currently print without a year, which is a known display fault and not a sign that the document is old.
Once accepted, the documents stay available from the avatar menu at the top right, under Terms, Privacy & PRA.
The acceptance screen. The two checkboxes and the Accept button sit at the foot of the last document, not on a screen of their own.
What you land on
You arrive on the Action Centre if your organisation has given you any of its alerts, and on Shipment Watch otherwise. The navigation rail on the left is grouped:
Action Centre and Shipment Watch at the top
Orchestration: Movements
Tools: Empty Release, Schedule Search, and Storage & Detention
At the bottom: Contacts, Settings, and Rate Configuration
You will not see all of these. Each item depends on a permission your administrator grants, and a whole group disappears when nothing in it applies to you. Storage & Detention carries a padlock for everybody: selecting it opens a short notice about a feature that is on its way, not a screen.
Two banners you may see above the page
A trial banner, if your organisation is inside its 30-day trial.
An invite banner, if you are an administrator: OneView works best with your whole team on it. Its Invite users button is currently taking people to a sign-in page instead of the user list, so add colleagues through your avatar menu and Manage Account until that is fixed. See Set up your organisation and invite users.
Where to go first
Nothing in OneView works until your containers are in it. Start with Add containers to Shipment Watch, then Quick start: Shipment Watch. Your first week has a short checklist: Your first week in OneView.
It worked if the navigation rail is on screen and Shipment Watch opens.
If it didn't, see Trouble signing in.
